There was a great all-day worship event on South Congress a few weeks ago, and I brought my camera out for some exercise.
In addition to the worship, several of us spent time walking around SoCo and praying for people.

I found these photos in the bucket of “things I need to post and haven’t posted yet.”
Last year I found myself at the Graffiti Park in Austin on the morning of Mother’s Day, doing a High School Senior photo shoot.
Afterwards I spent some quality time exploring this gem of an art zone, in the heart of Austin.

Several weeks ago there was also a small, but unknown meteor shower. So small, in fact, that I’ve forgotten which meteor was causing the shower.
However, I did capture some stellar night photographs, with some beautiful (and well-timed) trails, both from stars and other objects….
I think this was 5 minutes or so, aimed at the sky behind my truck.
I upped the exposure duration to 15 minutes, and in the last 30 seconds, a car drove by. I like how it turned out, though.
So having gotten the car in the last photograph, I figured I’d try again – to see if I could get a photo without people-interference. This time about a minute before the exposure ended, a truck drove through in the other direction.
In the end, I still think the photographs are amazing. 🙂
A few weeks ago I started photographing on a regular basis again, and wouldn’t you know it, I found myself in nature more than once photographing one of my favorite things….
I shot the last of these photos the day I happened to dislocate my knee cap, which is an adventure for an entirely different post….
Early last spring my friend Kevin told me to set aside a weekend in October for this big artist retreat that happens in the hill country.
A few weekends ago was that weekend, I went – and it was great to have a weekend to decompress, and to focus on the artist in me. It was truly refreshing, being in the middle of nowhere – with no pressure, no rush, hugely supporting friends (even if we just met hours ago), and an all-around atmosphere of art, and creativity.
I think I will have further words on the retreat as I process through it, but for now I leave you with the photographic evidence of the weekend….
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a promotional shoot for Bananarchy involving bananas, people and lots of joy.
You too can get your wedding catered by Bananarchy!
