Saturday, while I was in the Barton Creek greenbelt in Austin, someone attempted to burgle my truck. Fortunately a fellow rock climber witnessed the act and scared the perpetrator away - unfortunately he did not get the perpetrator’s buddy’s truck license plate.
This all happened about 5 minutes before I showed up. Bummer. Had I not tried to go after that one geocache, I might have seen them in the process of jacking my truck. That would’ve been interesting.
I wonder how I’d react when confronted with someone breaking into my vehicle.
They didn’t get in to the truck, but they did do some body damage to the truck door. I don’t have comprehensive insurance coverage, so I’ll be footing the bill on the repairs myself. Hope it won’t be too expensive.

This past weekend I spent the afternoon/evening visiting San Antonio with several of my friends.

A few of the highlights:
- Watching Emily and Marianne trying to get a jumping picture.
- Heather, the bagpiper, running into another bagpiper, and doing some quickie collaboration.
- The Chipotle Enchiladas at “The ORIGINAL Mexican Restaurant” (Just ask Zach).
- Being stuck in the parking garage for near an hour getting from level “F” down to “A” and then out.
All in all, it was an enjoyable trip, even though we did get home rather late. :)

I came across this gem today while surfing the internet.
It’s a cake. A manly cake. Made from MEAT. (Click the link if you don’t believe me :)
In other news, I shot some pictures this week. I caught a real live train on 4th Street by the Convention Center.
I also went photowalking with some flickr folks on Sunday.
In other news, I’ve gotten semi-sucked into Twitter, which is one of those high-energy social network things. I’m not sure I quite have the high energy for it, thus the semi- prefix.

This week we prepared to open one of our new hospitals. As part of the go-live, we had a commandcenter that we had to staff 24/7. I got the pleasure of working 3 6am - 2:30pm shifts this last week.
The first day was alright.. the second day was bad - but the third day was not too bad, surprisingly.
I did still take 1-1.5 hour naps in the afternoon after coming home each day - which was actually fairly pleasant. :)
Thursday after work, I got to rush to the airport and pick up my dad - who’s visiting through the 4th.
We’ll see if I manage to get up early next week - well, thursday - since I have off monday/tuesday.. Oh, I will indeed enjoy the 5-day weekend. :)
Ciao.
